Trip Report New posting Jersey and France Trip report

For some reason I posted earlier and was cut off half way through a sentence, and then could not re-submit a reply to carry on.

I left off with a miss-spelled word.... we were in the wonderful and medieval town of Dinan...


We had one of those memories to file away; sitting under an awning, watching passers-by while having a cidre and beer. Even the dogs seem more charming in France!

I highly recommend the Ibis hotel here. Modern comfortable rooms, good location and we had a lovely view over the square.

The next two days were Mont Saint Michel and Bayeux....I won't go into too much detail, but we had a fantastic time in both places. There have been many posts here about decisions to stay right on the Mont, or nearby hotels. We decided to stay on the Mont, at Le Mouton Blanc. The hotel was only so-so but the experience was wonderful.

In Bayeux we booked a tour with Viator for the Canadian D-Day sites; our guide was very knowledgeable and our group was small (one other couple). It was a very sombre experience and we feel very proud to be Canadian and appreciate all those that fought for our country. We saw the famous tapestry the next day and had one of our best meals of the trip at Reine Mathilde on a nice outdoor patio.
