New Photos now on-line of Prague, Florence, Venice, Siena, Pisa, and Lake Como
I just posted some photos from my trip in July to Prague and Italy - Florence, Venice, Siena, Lucca, Pisa and Lake Como. They are at: www.pbase.com/annforcier
I had a wonderful trip, if anyone has any questions about the places I went or any of the photos I'd be happy to answer them.

Your photos are gorgeous. You captured the essence of the locations so well, I felt as though I were revisiting some of the places I have been.
I also love your use of light. That is something I would love to be able to do better.
Thank you so much for sharing!

Wow! Very nice photos...thanks for sharing! We are taking our first trip to Italy in March. Maybe we should leave our camera at home and just print your photos! I am still debating my itinerary & would welcome any input. We are locked into a villa near Cortona for the 2nd week of our trip, but have a week before that...so far planning on 4 nights Rome, 3 nights Venice, but I'm struggling with wanting to go to Lake Como or Cinque Terre...even though I know it's early in the season & we don't have enough time. I shouldn't whine since alot of people see 10 countries in 12 days, but I want to do it all! Any suggestions? Feel free to e-mail me directly at [email protected]. Thanks!

Grazie, Isabel. Varenna looks wonderful! I have that same shot of the tree and tower in Siena; isn't Siena a great city? And I can never get tired of that classic shot of Santa Maria della Salute from the Accademia bridge...absolutely beautiful.

Isabel,
Your photos are gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing them.
My daughter's going to the University in Siena for Spring Quarter (and we only get to visit!) and your photos are really getting her psyched as well.
Would love to hear more about your trip, especially recommendations of places to stay and eat in Siena and Venice.
Thanks again,
Paula

Thanks for the replies, glad you like the photos. Yes pbase.com is a great site, very easy to use and they do showcase the photos well. Bailey, your photos there are wonderful.
This most recent trip I was gone for 17 days - I did 6 Florence, 3 Venice, 5 Prague and the last couple in Lake Como.
Natalie - your trip sounds good. I probably wouldn't go to Lake Como in March, I know a lot is still closed at that time of year, and from the other places you are going it would take quite a bit of effort to get there. Cinque Terre might be better in March if you really want some coast (besides Venice). Maybe you could do one less night in Rome. How are you getting around? I would suggest that you try to do at least one overnight in Florence but since you have the villa for a week you can at least go there on a day trip. Try to stay for sunset.
lulu - I would definitly opt for Siena over Gubbio for a base town. Siena was larger and had more to do, plus it's more central.
artlover - I didn't spend the night in Siena so can't help you there but in Venice I stayed at the hotel violino d'oro and highly recommend it. It's a 3 star, only about two minutes from San Marco. They have a web site. I got a very good rate because I was there in July which is evidently a slower season in Venice. When are you going to be there?

In reference to Venice, 5 Terre, and the Italian Lakes. Yes, 5 Terre and the lake country are very lovely and worth seeing. But keep in mind that there are many coastal areas and lake regions in the world that are just as wonderful, while there is only one Venice. When you factor in that March is not a season when 5 Terre and the Lakes are at their prime, I would say that Venice is the place to go.

Great work, Isabel.
We were discussing on another thread about having your photos on these photo sites, and how part of the agreement is that they own the rights to them as long as they're on that particular site.
I'd check the fine print there on pbase. You have some work that is very marketable.
If someone should be interested in licensing one or more of your images, you don't want pbase getting the check.
Just something to consider.

Thanks Jim. When someone of your photographic talent likes my work it's especially meaningful. I have read that other thread and did re-check pbase's fine print. They state that you retain all ownership rights, etc. so I guess I'm safe. I primarily post my pictures to help other travelers get a feel for places they are considering going, or to remember places they have been. I get so much pleasure from viewing other's photos that I want to give something back.
But I supposse I wouldn't mind selling some of my work. However, of all the sites mentioned in that thread, the ones where you can sell your work are no where near as easy to look through so that would defeat my primary purpose of posting them. Your site is wonderful, but then it's an independent site. I'm afraid I'm not computer literate enough to design my own web site. If you have any other suggestions though I'd love to hear them.
