New Chip and Pin Card from American Airlines
It appears that the new AAdvantage® Aviator™ Red MasterCard® will be a chip and pin card.
"Your card is a chip-and-signature card with PIN capability. In most cases, you’ll be asked to sign for your transaction. But at some self-service terminals such as ticket kiosks and vending machines, you may be asked to enter your PIN instead of signing. Please be sure to set up your PIN so you won’t have issues using your card at self-service terminals."

There are no foreign transaction fees associated with the replacement Barclay's card, but the card will not be available to anyone not already a holder of its current US Airways MC.
Citi will be offering its Platinum Select / AAdvantage to those without the current US Airways card.
The major difference will be the interest rates charged by the different banks. Barclay's charges a flat 10.9%, while Citi charges a variable APR; 13.99% to 21.99%, not a good deal if you happen to carry a balance for any length of time. The card does charge a foreign transaction fee of 3%.
You will have to get the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World EliteTM MasterCard®* to avoid the foreign transactions fees. Cost is $450/year.

It is exactly that, chip and signature. It is NOT a Chip and PIN card.
I got the same type of card with my new Southwest card. And the Premier version has NO foreign transaction fees; the annual fee is not waived.
And currently, you can get 25,000 points. At times, it offers 50,000 points - which easily is 2 free RT flights.

My Barclays Arrival Plus card (no foreign transaction fee; $85 annual fee) offers similar PIN capability. We intend to use it in Italy in May, but I'm not holding my breath that it will work at unmanned kiosks. I've just heard various conflicting reports. I'll report back with my experiences.
