Need trip planning advice

Is 8 days too little time for Istanbul, Cappodocia and Ephesus, assuming we use the fastest mosed of transportation? Would also like to fit in Catal Huyuk but I think that's asking too much...

Hi Abcdef,
8 days can be Ok if yo do the trip planning efficently and if you are prepared to spend some on flights.
2 Days istanbul, 3 days Cappadocia, Catalhoyuk by car, back to istanbul and fly izmir for Ephesus and overnight in istanbul before leaving.

Thats possible and would give you the taste of all.

Have fun in Turkey

dear friend;
8 days will be enough for turkey with such a plan:1st day: arrival at Istanbul check in the hotel. half day city tour (chora museum, spice market, dolmabahce palace)
2nd day: full day city tour ( Topkapi palace, st.sophia, blue mosque, grand bazaar)
3rd day flight to cappadocia (at 08:30 a.m.)half day cappadocia tour( Göreme openair museum, pasabag, avanos, devrent, wine tasting, sunset at kizilcukur valley)
4th day: full day cappadocia tour( kaymakli underground city ihlara canyon, selime monastery, sunset at Uchisar castle.
5th day: drive to konya to visit catalhoyuk(my personal opinion is it is not worth to see it)an mevlana museum the center of whirling dervishes and continue to pamukkale.
6th day: visit hierapolis ancient city and drive to kusadasi via afrodisias ancient city.
7th day: full day ephesus tour( ephesus open air, virgin mary's house, st.jean)
8th day:transfer to izmir airport

this is a general tour and if you want more you may send me a mail and i may prepare a more detailed tour for you and give you ideas about the fares. if you need any informations about Turkey you may use my mail address: [email protected]

Hi abcdef,

I disagree with MEHMET VURAL about Catalhoyuk. I don't know where are you coming from BUT If you are coming from USA I recommend you fly to Ankara and start your tour in Ankara end end in Istanbul like,

1) Fly to Ankara and check in Hotel
2) Ankara Anatolian Civilisation Museum and visit Mouseleum of Ataturk then on the way to Cappadocia you can visit Agzikarahan Carevanserai.
3)Cappadocia tour.
4)Drive to Konya to visit CATALHOYUK and Mevlana museum, Ince minaret Mosque and Karatay (Medresesi)museum Stay in Konya
5) Drive to Pamukkale and visit Pamukkale and Hierapolis (The ruin next the Pamukkale)
6) On the way to Ephesus you can visit Aprodisias. Ephesus museum and Ruins you can visit.
7) Virgin Mary's House and St Jean church are morning visits, then fly to Istanbul to have another half day tour in Sultanahmet.
8) you may fly back or continue to see some more.

Have a nice trip in Turkey

..personally i think 8 days is nuts!! I think if i had only 8 days i would go to Istambul and some of the sites in western turkey Or go to istambul then fly to the cappadocia area..i think trying to both in one trip is far too much!
