Need to take train from Verenna to Verona, Italy
Hello, In the middle of September, we're going to Verenna from Milan staying for two days then planning on taking the train to Verona. It seems like there is no train going there directly. I have to go back to Milan which is a long way back and costly. Can you give me suggestions on how to get from Verenna to Verona?
Thanks! Grazie!

You have to decide what is important to you: less distance or less time.
Via Milan: longer distance, shorter time. 2 trains. For Milano Centrale to Verona, you have an option of ES train for 19EU taking 1:22 or R train for 9.05EU taking 1:55.
Via Lecco, Bergamo, Brescia/Treviglio: less distance, longer time, 4 trains.
www.trenitalia.com can help you compute the scheduled time and the cost.

hang a L to Verona not far trenitalia.it 2 euros per hour>
this poster has been corrected by many experts (I am not calling myself an expert but others) many times about that 2 euros an hour crap - has not been that way in a long time and for regional trains with multiple changes you will be far better off IMO yes taking the train to Milan and switching to a fast train to Verona - regional trains are not only slow but very uncomftable often and can be overcrowded - and it will take hours that way. forget that advice IMO and yes go via Milan - the only sensible way to go.

of training usually just hop on.>
to be cdlear in Italy this ONLY applies to Regional trains - the slow milk trains that you do NOT want to take on this routing - all other trains such as between Milan and Verona, save for the slower than painting drying regional trains, indeed do demand a seat reservation for a specific train - you cannot just hop on. for lots of good info on Italian trains check out these sites - www.seat61.com; www.ricksteves.com, www.budgeteuropetravel.com - note the Varenna-Esino to Milan trains are mainly regional on the Tirano to Milan line and yes on those you can just hop on. but in schedules at www.trenitalia.com unless it says R for Regionale train then you do need a seat reservation for a specific train - like IC - InterCity; AV, ES and other high-speed trains, which run between Milan and Verona and Venice but do not reach really high speeds because high-speed tracks are yet to be made on this line as they have been say between Milan and Florence, Naples, etc.
