Need to prebook Galleria dell'Accademia in May?

Jump to last reply

I promise I have searched the boards, but no recent threads that I could find!

I'll be in Florence from a Sunday afternoon through a Tuesday morning in early May. I know now that the Galleria dell'Accademia will be closed on Monday (research fail on my part!), and we'll be flying into Rome and taking the train directly to Florence on Sunday. So it's possible that we could squeeze in seeing the David on Sunday afternoon/evening, but we might have to wait till Tuesday morning before we leave for Vernazza. I've looked at the web site just to see, and there are still tickets available for this week, so it seems like we could just wait and see what happens, but would May be a high enough season that we should really prebook for a Tuesday morning slot?
