Need suggestions for musical Events in Rome :)

Hello the great people!
Having had great feedback for my previous questions, Im back with more questions concerning my future trip to Italy in from niv 29th to dec 15th
I would LOVE some suggestions concerning a musical event to attend in Rome... I guess u just can't visit Italy without experiencing live Opera

Are there any websites where I can purchase the tickets?
PS: Events in Florence or Venice would be good too bu Rome is my longest stay..

Million thanks u all.

The Teatro dell'Opera, referenced by Envierges, is the only professional opera company in Rome. It's an excellent company, and Tristan and Isolde (Wagner) and Rigoletto (Verdi) will be on while you're there. Tickets are expensive, but they're worth it. The theatre is spectacular, and the productions are of a very high level.

There are also some semi-professional opera companies in Rome that put on productions of selections of arias and concert editions of operas. They're usually produced in churches, or occasionally in small theatres. You can generally just show up and buy tickets at the door for most of these, especially at that time of the year, when the number of tourists is not overwhelming. All hotels have flyers advertising these productions.

You can find these, and also the professional opera mentioned above at www.classictic.com . Just put "Rome opera" and the dates in the search box. You can use the same website for Florence and Venice.

Thanks guys for the great suggestions. Im online to book the Rigoletto (available on dec 10th) but the seating plan is really a struggle, especially that there is no english when booking. What is the best seat to choose (different prices of course):
Palchi centrali/laterali PLT 1-2/2/3 ORD AV/DI
Balconata 2-3 FILA
GALLERIA
?
THANKS AGAIN

The palchi are the boxes, and, in general, I don't care for them. They have chairs instead of regular theatre seats, and they tend to be uncomfortable for sitting on for several hours. The ones on the sides (laterali) are particularly problematic, because you're essentially facing the palchi on the opposite side of the theatre, and to see the stage, you have to turn your head. The central palchi wouldn't have that problem, but there's another problem. In each palco there are four chairs: two in front and two in back. I'm sure that's what the AV (avanti= in front) and DI (dietro = behind) means. They charge less for the chairs behind, because your view will be blocked somewhat by the two heads in front of you.

The balconata is the balcony. I'd prefer the 1st row, but you've indicated only the 2-3 fila, which would be the 2nd and 3rd rows. The 1st row probably is the first to sell out, because those are the best value for money. The balcony (balconata) is higher than the boxes, but that's usually better for the acoustics. There are some columns in the balcony, which you can see in the photos, and you might have to bend your head to see around one of them. I don't know if the 2nd and 3rd rows (2-3 fila) are problematic because of the heads in front of you. It depends on the slope, and I've never been there.

If those are your only choices, I'd prefer a palco centrale AV. If you get a palco laterale (on the sides) get one as far back as possible, because the closer you are to the stage, the harder it is to see things on your side of the stage. And definitely get one of the front seats (AV).

Are there no seats left in the Platea? I would prefer one of those, but not too close to the stage, and not too far to the side.
