Hi,
My husband and I are travelling to Swiss with our 9 year old daughter. We are in Swiss for 7 days.
The itinerary that I have planned is:
Day 1 : Arrive from Paris to Geneva. Check in and go for a city tour
Day 2 : Gruyere and Broc
Day 3 : From Geneva to Interlaken, city tour of interlaken and will try to do the half day Boat cruise.
Day 4 : Jungfrau
Day 5 : Interlaken to Lucerne - City tour and Swiss Folklore show
Day 6 : Mount Titlis
Day 7 : Interlake to Zurich for a flight back.
I am taking a Swiss Pass so that the internal travel becomes easy.
Do you think this Itinerary is okay? Which are the must see during the City tour?
Do you think we should add any other place?

I think you've got a heck of a lot crammed into seven days.

Titlis is accessed from Engleberg, which is a hour's train ride from Luzern.

I'm confused about day 7 - where are you spending night 6? Luzern? Surely you don't plan to go back to Interlaken, just to take the train to Zurich?

Night 6 I am planning to spend in Luzern. I am actually just going to Zurich to catch my flight back to India.
Even I am getting a feeling that I have filled my days to the brim. Can you please suggest what are the must see.

I'd say the Berner Oberland is definitely a must see. You're going there, but you've not left yourself much time to explore. The best of Switzerland is in the mountains IMO, and cities in general are very low on my list, let alone a city tour of Interlaken.

I assume you've looked at train schedules? You'll be spending quite a bit of time on trains with your current itinerary.

Yes I have looked at the traib schedules. What I intend to do is take trains in early in the mornings so that I can get a whole day within the cities I am travelling to.

I am not really hungo about the city tour. U can please suggest a good location wherein I can spend my day. I really what to enjoy the countryside which i am sure is more beautiful.

I've found that Lauterbrunnen makes the perfect base from which to explore the Berner Oberland. It's a small village, yet a transportation hub of sorts and it's very easy to get from point A to point B from there.

From Lauterbrunnen you can reach Murren for easy access to the Schilthorn (perhaps as an alternative to the Titlis).

Staying in Wengen is another good option - it's the next train stop after Lauterbrunnen. The train to the Jungfrau goes right through both Lauterbrunnen and Wengen.

I'm not familiar with Gruyere and Broc and I always begin and end in Zurich, so I'll have to defer to others regarding these areas.

There are countless threads posted here on the pros and cons of where to say in the Berner Oberland if you care to do an indepth search.

Skip Geneva (pretty boring city) and go across the lake to the lovely little villages on the Lavaux wine trail. See Chillon Castle. Gruyere can be done in about 3 hours including lunch. Nothing in Broc but the chocolate factory. However, it's fun to hike from Bulles through Broc to Gruyere. Nice walk. Skip tour of Interlaken and do the BO. I loved Wengen. Take the cable car up to Gimmelwald and Murren for some awesome views.

May is still iffy in Switzerland. They do maintenance on the lifts and gondolas between ski season and summer. So you might not be able to go everywhere. But definitely skip the city tour of Interlaken and concentrate on the mountains.

You want clear weather for the Jungfrau. It's best to wait and see how the weather is the morning you want to go up. If you have a few days to be flexible. it's better.

Hi, Based on the wonderful responses received for Interlaken, I have can cancelled it from my to do list, instead I will stay at Lauterbrunnen. I have shortlisted Hotel Steinbock.

Of the 2 days one day will go in visiting the Jungfrau and I was planning to see the Trummelbach Falls. For my day 2 can you please suggest some beautiful villages that I can visit. Wegen is definately one option.

Also Geneva as suggested I will skip the city tour and do the little villages on the Lavaux wine trail. Can you please give me more details on this please.

I've found the town of Lutry to be especially lovely and inviting, and I also really like the village of Rivaz. Here is a link to a map with walking trails to help you visualize the area:

Of course, you can always just go to google maps and input "Vevey Switzerland" and then move the map to the west to see the towns. You can then get transport info from the Swiss rail site
