My wife and I have traveled independently and with tour companies and have found that the " regional" companies that specialize in a particular country generally do a better job and a lower cost than the major tour operators. For example we went to Turkey with Pacha and China with China Spree for about half of what the majors charged. Does anyone know of this type of tour company for Spain? We are looking for a fourteen day or longer tour that would cover the major cities and points of interest>
need names of small spanish tour companies

You may want to check with a Spanish Travel Agency as most smaller tour companies deal with regional tours only.
Hopefully Maribel will chime in .In the meantime, although I have not used them, the company Totally Spain www.totallyspain.com and Saranjan tours www.saranjantours.com
have been highly recommended.
The best tour I've ever taken (usually an independent traveler) was with A Different Spain. I highly recommend them.

I typically do not use tour companies, but have used Clara at http://www.madridandbeyond.com/ twice for two-week trips to Spain. She lays out a great itinerary, nice hotels in the price range you want, arranges car rental, and has relationships with excellent guides throughout the country. These guides take your group, and your group only, on half or full day tours of the major and many minor cities in the country.
This is a 5 year old thread. Probably JamesW topped it to advertise.
