Need Mobile phone advice for Italy
Hello, Will be traveling to Rome then Naples Italy for a couple of weeks.
Like to be able to use a cell phone to help look up things on the internet and for use with wiifi available at hotels.
I might also like to make a few local calls while there.
Any economical recommendations?
Thanks

If you have a fairly new smart phone, you can probably use an Italian SIM card with it. The most used cell providers in Italy are TIM and Vodafone. A SIM card with either one costs €10, and comes with €5 of initial credit. If you only want to make local calls, you could just add a little more credit.
Both TIM and Vodafone have plans for tourists that include both local and international calls, and data services, which would allow you to use the internet when you have no access to Wifi. These plans cost €30, including the cost of the SIM card, so wouldn't cost much more than buying a SIM card and putting a little extra credit on it. They provide slightly different benefits.
TIM for Visitors: https://www.tim.it/tim-visitors-en has 4 gb of internet data and 100 minutes of calls within Italy and to over 50 other countries, listed at the bottom of the web page. You can buy the SIM card online, but you have to pick it up and activate it at a TIM store.
Vodafone Holiday: http://www.vodafone.it/portal/Privat...oliday-English has 2 gb of internet data, 300 minutes to Italy and over 40 other countries, and 300 text messages. You can buy the SIM card at a Vodafone store.
If you don't have a suitable phone, you can get a cheap Android phone on Amazon or Ebay before you leave. Search for an unlocked quad band GSM phone.

Hi Bvlenci
I have Samsung note 4, would that work with the italian sim card ?
If it does, where would I buy the sim and how would I add internet min. I'll probably mainly use it to search in a free wiifi area.
