We're looking for a last-minute relaxing beach holiday for about 1 week and plan to book it for one of the last 2 weeks of July which means I need to book something in the next week or so. I'm hoping to find something that is no more than about 3-4 hours flight time from England.
I'll be traveling with my two kids (ages 10 and 11) so I'm looking for a good pool and also easy access to the beach. If there is a water park nearby that would be great, but not required. We'd also be interested in exploring for a day or two while there. We usually do self-catering but for this trip I'm looking to do at least half-board and possibly all-inclusive.
I've been looking at places in Majorca, Menorca, Tunisia, Turkey, and Cyprus so far. I'm not so picky about the location as long as it isn't too far. I'm looking for a place with good reviews. I don't really care if there is too much nightly entertainment or kids clubs so would actually prefer a slightly quieter resort.
So far I'm just searching through Thomas Cook, First Choice, and other sites but I'd welcome any ideas! I realize most of the good places are probably already booked but am hoping to find something.
Need ideas for last minute beach holiday.

I am arranging a trip for our family to Cyprus over the Christmas holidays. Look at Pafos in Cyprus-Easy Jet flies there along with BA into Larnaca and Easy Jet out of there.
The area between Pafos(Paphos) up to Coral Bay seem to have alot of rentals and gorgeous beaches with private swimming pools.Look at Holidaylettings.com and holidayrentals.co.uk for some villa possibilities?
Check out Booking.com and Tripadvisor for availability and prices. Cyprus seems like it has alot of things going on in the summer for everyone. Have fun!
watch out for crazy flight times there and back as it can be painful to get stuck on a flight at 4am if you have to leave the hotel at 1am.
Bodrum is not bad for Turkey,
Tunis itself is good to visit but probably further down the coast to stay, nothing very wonderful.
Agree with dutyfree Cyprus is a good deal, I was on the north (west) coast but in Greek Cyprus rather than Turkish recently and not too crowded up there
You didn't tag your post for Cyprus, but you did for Greece. If you are looking for shorter flight times, think about one of the Ionian Islands: Corfu, Zakynthos, or Cephalonia, all about 3 hours from London. Cyprus would be about 4½ hours flying time.
Thanks all. I'm casting a wide net and yes I should have tagged Greece since I'm looking there too! There sure are a lot of choices!
