Need hotel recommendation in Barrio Gotico section of Barcelona
Does anyone have a hotel to recommend in Barrio Gotico area? If not that area, somewhere close or easily accessible to that district? Looking for somewhere nice, but not too expensive (ideally under $200 per night) Thanks!

Hi, a couple years ago I spent four nights at the Regencia Colon Hotel. It was well located; we walked everywhere. It's not overly luxurious but it was clean, modern and quiet and the folks at the front desk were very nice to us.

Take a look at Hotel Banys Orientals, just 100€ for a double and considered by Conde Nast to be one of the great bargains of the Med area a few years ago:

Also loved the Regencia Colon for it's location and price. If you want to go more upscale it's sister Hotel Colon is even better and locals dance the Sardana right in front of it twice a week. Talk about experiencing the culture!

I'll ditto Regencia Colon as I stayed there about a year ago - very convenient location and helpful front desk - godd sized room and bathroom. But Banys Orientals looked interesting to me so I clicked the link - it showed prices for 2010 and when I clicked bookings it gave an email, no on-line site? - seems a bit odd - is it still open for business?
