My family will be staying in Paris in June for 1 week and then we will be in the Luberon for the following week. We have an apartment in Paris and a villa near Gordes ready. I would like to rent a car while in the Luberon for day trips. What is the best way to get from and to Paris so I can fly back to the US from CDG? TGV from Paris to Avignon and rent a car there? TGV does not take online reservations from Paris to Avignon. Anyone have any quick tips?
Thanks for your help!

Of course you can purchase TGV tickets online. I don't recall when idTGV tickets go on sale, but normal TGV tickets can be purchased 3 months in advance - no sooner.
The TGV is the best way to get to/from Paris/Avignon. Friends have taken the TGV from the Avignon TGV station to CDG on the morning of their flight home. I've taken the TGV from Dijon, Beaune, and Chambery to CDG on the morning of our flight home. I now happen to enjoy a night in Paris with dinner at Train Bleu at the Gare de Lyon the night before a flight home.

You can buy tickets on iDTGV now up to June 13. If you need them later than that, they will open the next block up in a bit. You can sign up for email alert for the announcement of when the next block opens.

Thank you! I think because I was trying to purchase June 22 online, it was past the 3 month mark. I will try again in a few weeks. I like the idea of spending the night before in Paris before the morning flight home, but I would probably stay at a hotel very near CDG. Any recommendations if I did that?
SNCF will alert you by email the day before tickets go on sale for both iDTGV and TGV trains. Just follow the link below and fill in the form with your departure and arrival cities, date you wish to travel, and your email address. I have done this several times and always received the alerts as promised.
The form is in French only, but very simple. You must check the first box to receive your alert by email, but I always uncheck the second box since I do not wish to receive SNCF offers etc.
