Need help with Norway camping & driving itinerary

Jump to last reply

coming to Norway with wife in late July early August (we're both adventurous, early 30s, don't mind roughing a bit, would rather stay away from organised tours / cruises / crowds etc and into nature rather than crowds) was thinking about the following as an itinerary and would LOVE some feedback on it - never posted in a forum before but Norway genuinely is a bit mind boggling all the distances etc

Planning on camping for the main part (sometimes on sites, sometimes wild- responsibly of course!)

Thurs pm arrive Lofoten, hire a car 2.5 days camping, walking

Fri Lofoten

Sat Lofoten

Sun Loften Sun - pm fly to Bodo then t

Option 1) take night train to Trondheim
and have between Mon and following Sun (6 days) around Trondheim / Alesund / Geiranger either driving and dropping car back at Oslo.

OR Option ) fly from bodo to Bergen on the Mon and then have 5 / 6 days around Bergen / glaciers / before flying back following Sunday morning to Oslo and then home

OR option 3 staying longer around the North maybe Bodo / Arctic circle area but that would mean coming to Norway and not seeing the fjords!

Really in dliemma as to how to spend the 5 days although obviously want to see some fjords not so bothered about boat trips or crowded places more interested in wild nature and amazing camping spots adventures and quiet villagers are the central national parks Rondane / Jostalsbreen worth visiting? Any advice at all would be seriously appreciated
