We are going to visit Copenhagen in September. Please help us with suggestions of hotels - they need to be central and mid to high end. Thanks.

The Marriott was very nice; stayed there last April for 4 nights. Easy to walk to everything and nice views from the views.

We ate - but didnt stay - at the D'Angleterre - at one end of the Stroget. If the hotel is like the meal a great deal. Also check out hotels at the other end - near the Town Hall and Tivoli.
check out the Richmond hotel.
It is right down town very easy walking distance to
everything.
if you google it and read the reviews you will get an idea about the hotel
we stayed two nights before and after a cruise.nice and clean, excellent helpful staff great free breakfast.
if going though airport there is a very good tourist info booth and a transportation kiosk .quite easy to get to via train
OK, I like and have stayed in the Marriott several times. Easy walk from the rail station which probably won't interest you and also to Tivoli.
Now, if you want REALLY "high end" and somewhat unique take a look at the Nimb which is part of Tivoli itself. I've stayed once; value for money? Depends on what floats your boat.
We liked The Square -- crisp modern decor, breakfast buffet with great cheeses and baked goods, central location near Town Hall Square, Tivoli, and the train station. The standard room was not spacious by any means, but it had everything we needed for a comfortable five nights.
If you want to stay pretty much in Nyhavn, literally one block away from the fabulous canal with all it's houses and buzz, I would recommend the Clarion Collection Hotel Neptune. It's not high end by any stretch of the imagination, but the location is unbeatable! It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I stayed there and apart from the fact that their free suppers were rubbish (who needs it anyway! You are one block from all the restaurants of Nyhavn) and the flow on the shower wasn't fantastic...it was brilliant value for money! And...with all of central Copenhagen being ripped up while they put in a new metro line...it was a much better place to stay than over near the central station. Very picturesque area, five minutes walk from the kongens nytorv metro stop.
We also just returned from the Clarion near Nyhavn. Great location and very nice room. High end enough for my budget. The evening buffet was great for us to grab some fruit. No choice, only one option for main course, but after a day of walking it was nice to run downstairs and grab a plate of fruit for snacking.
Thanks to everyone that responded. We have now a list to check and decise.
