Need help with accommodation in Paris for Kiwi family of 5

Hi I am trying to find the best location for us in Paris for 5 nights. We have 3 kids (age 3-9) so thinking about an apartment rental. Something nice but not ridiculously expensive, authentic close to shops and sights. Love markets- food and flea. Will probably have to do Disneyland (shudders!). I love the sound of Monmartre, I was looking near the Eiffel Tower, but then saw some threads that say it's dead at night. Want lively without nightclub noises into the night. Thanks!

That really doesn't help - what is your actual budget? And when is your trip?

I'm not sure I'd stay in Monmarte w/ little kids -- not because of danger or anything, but because of the hills and slightly more difficulty getting around.

I'd also not stay near the Eiffel tower - bit there are many other terrific neighborhoods.

I stayed in www.vrbo.com/90955 with family a couple of years ago. It's a great location, comfortable, clean, and spacious, as Paris apartments go. I see there is some availability for this Sept., but not much. You are talking about 2014? Wow, this is late b/c Sept. is a very busy month in Paris.

4th arrondissement is a wonderful area. You need to book a place immediately as September is one of the busiest months.

If you give links people can advise as to location and apartment.
