Need Help w/Black Sea Resort in Bulgaria
I usually avoid starting new threads pertaining to 1 trip, but since this new format has gone into effect and my thread I started earlier today is tagged Greece and Turkey( I forgot to add Bulgaria), I am afraid no one who has been to Bulgaria will comment on the other thread ( Need Assistance with Turkey and Rhodes, Question about the Order)
Anyway, we MIGHT add a Black Sea Resort to the trip I outlined in the other thread after coming back from Athens for 2 nights. I assume flying out of Athens would be best.
The trip is Turkey, Rhodes, Athens and then we are thinking Black Sea to finish up
What is a fabulous resort to end the trip with for let's say maybe 3 nights. We won't have time for this trip to include city life like Sofia and would just prefer to enjoy a relaxing end to the trip with a lux property on the Black Sea. Then perhaps fly back to the US from Bulgaria.
Does this even make sense? How would we do it? We fly AA and its partners and would most likely employ all that throughout the trip. We usually fly on FFmiles as we have a ton. But we don't need to, and we can make other arrangments if we need to.
So, if you've been to a Black Sea Resort , let me know what you would recommend.
If this all invoives too much complication, we might forget it, but its worth a look see

I have been to Golden Sands resort very near Varna airport. beaches are good, food leaves alot to be desired and I hear it still has not improved much. we hire a boat with a crew for very little money, the food was caught by ouirselves and it was the best we had for both trips. I am sure you know to look after your valuables, we were advised not to use hotel safety deposit boxes as these were even at risk from theft.

My family often summers in Elenite, but Sunny Beach might be a better choice, as it has more traditional resort amenities (nightclubs and the like). Elenite is more family-focused.

Bourgas is closer to Turkey than Varna; both have many flights to Athens and elsewhere.

I've only ever skied in Bulgaria, but one of the ski forums I use has a sister site devoted to the Black Sea coast. You may find some information here, or answers to your questions.
