Hi , I am planning to visit the italian riviera , need to know where should I land , either Milan , Rome , or other city in Italy , then if I need to rent a car to visit the area , and where to stay and which places to visit in the area , how many days , all the help would be very welcome so to plan my stay there

You could fly into Nice, then train or drive to the Riveria. But we need much more info to help you, like length of trip, interests, and budget.
Well, define what you mean by that term. I have seen it to mean anywhere along a 200 mile stretch from San Remo to Viareggio. Be specific. And, the closest airports will be Pisa or Genoa, depending on what you mean.
Thanks for your response , I am going to spend 10 days aprox ,I am flying out of Miami USA , and need the closest city from there , I am on a regular budget , not the cheapest but I do not want to spend the most , a good hotel , and nice places to visit
also do I need a car , is it convenient to rent one , some say there is very few park available ,

I use googlemaps to find the closest city. Or look and see where your chosen airline flies to from Miami and work from there...you still havent told us where on the riviera you are wanting to visit...
Living in Milan for years now, Italian rivera is something I like to indulge for any possible excuse …
} or Milan of course not in Rome its way to far and take a train to la spezia you can make a trip to cinque terre as well and hike through mountains
coming from Miami I would suggest to land in Genoa {home of Columbus
( carry a good sleeping bag and mosquito repellent) driving a car in Italy is hell lot of mess as cities are historic so you are not allowed to drive on most areas to add high parking fee and less parking space ….
A week after you land should be enough, if you are under 35 you can always book a hostel or hotel but generally in any case its in city centre so I suggest make use of your camp bag or find some stay in vineyards along the way ….
OR, you could fly into Pisa and out of Genoa (or Nice).
Spend a night in Pisa to see the Tower then take a train to the Cinque Terre, then on to Camogli, Genoa, SanRemo, Ventimiglia, Menton (France) and leave from Nice.
Others can suggest different places and the number of days to stay. We actually made Genoa a longish day trip from Menton. You have lots of possibilities.
Good train and bus service from the places we saw but we often took tours or taxis because it can be a walk from the station to the actual destination!
