NEED HELP FINDING HOTEL/APARTMENT IN ROME

since my last post I decieded to cancel my reservation at Hotel California. I should have looked into other areas before booking here. Im thinking of reserving Residence Novanapt, which is very close to Piazza Navona. This is one of the nicer ones I found and my question is this place safe? and is it worth staying at this apartment? I really do not understand how the apartment rentals work. Do me and my girlfriend have to share kitchens and restrooms with other people? or do we have our own private things? Ive never done this before so I am very confused. Also is there any apartments or hotels that anyone could recommend that is very very close to the Colesseum? My girlfriend would prefer that area. thank you so much for those who can help.

1) The area around Residence Navona is very nice, very convenient, and very safe. VERY much worth staying there - it would be in top tier of areas to stay in. Excellent choice.

2) Each apartment has its own kitchen and bathroom - just like any apartment.

3) I would not recommend staying close to the Colosseum. Has your girlfriend ever been to Rome? Why does she prefer that area? It's noisy, traffic ridden, and (other than the ancient ruins) a more modern, busy, business area. I've been to Rome many times and, IMO, the area close to the Colosseum is, while not thew worst, is not nearly as nice, charming or convenient as many, many, many other neighborhoods in Rome.

No, this will actually be her first time in Italy, as well as mines. This is our first vacation together and I just want to make sure its perfect, but im sure the busses and trains would get us all over Rome easily. Im very happy to hear that it is safe in the area which im looking at.

What you get in an apt depends n the description (and the assumption that they are truthful - you need to do due diligence and check.)

Usually you are getting an entire apt fo ryourself - but read carefully for info about elevators (may be none - just stais, since many buildings are hundreds of years old) and AC (ditto). However, some of the sites - like Air BnB offer rooms in someonelse's apt - in which case you would be sharing facilities with others, You have to read the listings carefully to determine what you are promised - and what you will actually get.

Pza Navona is a much more pleasant area than immediately next to the coliseum. And you need to get a very detailed street map - since you will be walking to many places - plan one at least 5 or 6 miles per day and bring the shoes for it - on cobblestones.

This isn't bad. A bit noisy. You fix your own breakfast from their rather large selection of stuff. You can see our experience at -

Aventino Guest House -

It's close to the Circus Maximus, Metro, busses and trolleys.
