Need help deciding - Italy or Spain in winter
We are planning a 12 day trip to Europe in the first week of February and trying to decide between Barcelona and Andalusia or Rome and Sicily. From a strictly weather standpoint which destination do you think will be more favorable to visit in the winters? Any other ideas will be great too. We will be in Dublin so can pretty much travel to any place reachable from there.

Marrakech can be chilly (relatively speaking) during the winter months, but isn't bad because of the lack of tourist at that time. It will be slightly warmer than Sicily, Rome, Barcelona and most of Andalucia.

By the first week of February, you have a good chance of pleasant weather in Rome, and an even better chance in Sicily. However, there are no guarantees. I don't know about Spain; I would expect Barcelona to be a bit chilly and damp, but I have no direct experience.

We have been considering Morocco as well but am miffed I'm not able to find a direct flight to anywhere in Morocco. All the flights I can find stop somewhere on the continent and cost upwards of $500 as opposed to the $50 it costs to fly to Rome or Barcelona. Or I am not looking at the right place/airlines. Thoughts?

Rome and Sicily have a good chance of decent if not warm weather. The almond trees may even be blooming in Sicily.
Not sure about Barcelona but Andalucia has as good a chance as any place in Europe of being a bit mild. Can't ever tell with the weather.
I guess I'd choose based on which appeals most.
