Need help and tips on Europe Tour this coming November & December
My HB n I are going for a tour from Vienna to Venice, then Venice to Milan, Milan to Switzerland, Paris then London. I am getting stressed out since this is our 1st time to Europe, knowing nothing at all how it would be like.
We are from Malaysia, small country in Asia.
I bought rail pass, 4 countries, 5 days since this journey takes only till 4th December. Last stop is London.
Question:
1. From Milan to Switzerland, what is the best route we shall take? I do not want a return trip for we plan to stay 2 nights in Switz... but which part? I love to take Bernina train, but i do not want return tickets. + tips on cheap but nice hotel there.
2. In Paris, shall we stay in champs-elysees area? or the louvre?
Tq..pls respond...

I cant help with the rail passes, but the best way to get to London from Paris is the eurostar - get the best price by booking as early as possible. www.eurostar.com
When do you leave and how many days do you have? You are covering alot considering the short day light hours.
As for where to stay in Paris, I like the 3rd - 6th arrondisments. The Champs is my least favourite area as it has a lot of high end stores and not many things I like to see.
Be sure to get a good guide book for each place you are visiting.

Did I read correctly on another post that you are trying to do this in 10 days? I really think you have underestimated the time to travel between all these places. You have 6 locations and about 10 days - if you lose at least 1/2 a day in travel thats 3 full days you will lose, leaving you with barely a day in each place! You will likely only get 7-8 hours of sunlight a day as well. With 10 days I would pick 2-3 places max...

Hi DA,
>In Paris, shall we stay in champs-elysees area? or the louvre?<
In Paris, we always stay at the Hotel Bonaparte, 61 Rue Bonaparte in the 6th. From 130E dbl + bkfst. It is just around the corner from Place St. Sulpice, near 3 metro stops and 4 bus routes. Has AC and an elevator.
The staff speaks English well, and is very helpful. The front desk is staffed 24/7
They can arrange a shuttle pickup to/from CDG for you.
