Need help-3 week Slovenia-Croatia Itinerary

Jump to last reply

My husband and I are going to Slovenia and Croatia for 3 weeks late in the summer. I am struggling with an itinerary and would appreciate any suggestions. Is Zagreb worth seeing or is just another large city with the usual cathedrals to see? We fly into Ljubliana - do we stay 2 or 3 nights? We are hikers so planned on staying at Lake Bled (probably Hotel Villa Bled)for 3 nights. Then we were going to Istria (Opatjia/Piran/Rovinj??) - should we stay in one or maybe 2 different places? Then to Plitvice for 2 nights?? We want to do some island hopping then so are thinking of 2 nights on Hvar then perhaps a night in Korcula? It sounds like Split is best to do as a stopover rather than an overnighter. We end up in Dubrovnik (4 or 5 nights) and I thought we would try and do a day trip to Mljet (rather than spend the night there) and I saw some postings that Atlas does a good day tour to Montenegro. We will have a car. Thanks in advance for your help.
