Need advice on most eco trvl to Lisbon and Madrid, Post-Camino
My wife and I will finish our Camino de Santiago on a Thursday around 1pm sometime in October. Our flight out of Madrid will be on a Sunday around 3pm. We intend to visit Lisbon (and Fatima too). 1ST CHOICE: The adventurous me thinks the best way (cheapest?) to go is to rent a car one-way (SCQ-LIS-MAD) on Friday with a brief stopover in Fatima. Saturday will be spent enjoying the city of Lisbon. On Sunday, we leave for Madrid around 5-6am. How does that sound? 2ND CHOICE: Take train/bus to Vigo and fly to Lisbon late Thursday. We will then have Friday/Saturday to visit Fatima, etc. Of course, Sunday fly to Madrid.... I have no idea how much toll fees to prepare for when driving in both countries. If you have any other advice, I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks

BTW for got to add if you hire a Spanish registered car you have to pre pay some of the tolls in Portugal.
http://www.portugaltolls.com
If you do not pay them you risk a chance of getting fined too.

TAP airlines has a direct flight from Lisbon to Madrid departing on Sundays at 12h00 noon, putting you in Madrid at 14h15n (2:15 pm), which might work, if you don't want to spend any time in Madrid.
There are several direct flights a day between Porto and Lisbon, as well as great rail service.
Flights from Vigo to Lisbon are limited. Vueling shows only two direct flights/day during the week, plus one on Saturday and one on Sunday. TAP, Iberia and Air Europa also offer connecting flights, but they can take all day, from 3 to 23 hours.

If you really want to stop in Fatima, I would go for the rental car (getting from Galicia to Fatima in public transport can be a nightmare).
There are no direct flights from Vigo to Lisbon as far as I know, but there are from A Coruña airport (same distance from Santiago, but north).
You can use public transport to get from Vigo to Lisbon.
-Train from Vigo to Porto (renfe.com)
-Bus from Vigo to Porto (autna.com) both of them take about 2 hours, but buses are more regular.
And then, a train from Porto to Lisbon (cp.pt). That takes 3 hours roughly (depending on which one you choose).
