Need a *not pintxos* lunch/dinner rec in San Sebastián, Spain.
I'm pintxo'd out and need a good asador rec for San Seb.
Help is appreciated.
Arzak/Akalare-type places are not quite what I'm looking for. I just need a couple of solid steak and grilled meats recs.
Thank you very much.

Arzak is a wonderful restaurant, in fact, the best one I've ever eaten at. However, the price isn't cheap.
Try this link. You should find what you want.

La Cepa in C/31 de Agosto is a classic. Three course lunch with drinks included is 15€. Specialize in meat and fish. Fantastic Jamón ibérico (from Jabugo): http://www.barlacepa.com/en/index.html
I like friendly La Cueva in the same street (on Plaza de la Trinidad). Grill. No fuzz: http://www.restaurantelacueva.org/index_ingles.htm
Asador Casa Vallés is an institution in town. Food and atmosphere is great, rustic, and laid-back, a far cry from the gourmet hype. It's in the Reyes Católicos street just behind the cathedral. Long tables inside can seat some 40-50 persons, and also an outside terrace. Eat grilled meat till you drop, 1 kg Chuleton de Buey 32€, Chuleta de Buey Gallego 17€ and Solomillo de la Casa 17€: http://www.barvalles.com/portada.html
I've also used to get fantastic meat down in the cellar at Egosari in C/ Fermin Calbetón, 15, the most busy street of the Parte vieja/Old town. http://www.egosari.es/
Besides, Tolosa just inland from San Sebastián is known for some of the finest meat restaurants in the region/country, Casa Nicolas etc.

Bodega Donostiarra is another classic, in small C/Peña y Goñi just behind the Kursaal center. http://www.bodegadonostiarra.com/
You also find many excellent pintxo bars in Gros. I like especially Bar Bergara and Garbola. Try the shark pintxo at Garbola: http://www.todopintxos.com/bares/bar...3&do=vista_bar

I had two great meals at Ikaitz in Gros when I was there in May
http://www.restauranteikaitz.com/
The food is Basque with a modern twist and presented beautifully. Service was delightful. I had fish both times but my friends had steak and pork and both raved.
