First time visitors to Geneva! We are meeting up with friends----we arrive on a Saturday and our friends arrive Sunday. Can someone recommend a good hotel (preferably with airport shuttle)? Would also appreciate tips for a single day in Geneva
Feel free to suggest restaurants or other sites too! Thanks!

It ewould hlep to have a budget (Switz is VERY expensive) and what you men by a good hotel. ARe you looking for luxury? Business standard? Modest for tourists?
$350 US or less for hotel. We arrive mid afternoon. Would like location that will
allow us to walk Geneva after our flight but we need to rendezvous with our friend at about 8 a.m. Sunday morning at the airport.
Restaurant cost is not important, we want a nice dinner for our one night in Geneva.
Does this help?
I stayed at the Intercontinental which is across the street from a bus stop, near the United Nations. Not downtown or in the old town but a good hotel.
The airport is only a few minutes away (15 minutes tops!)... 6 stops if I recall. Downtown is only about a 15 minute bus ride and the bus goes all the way into old town. Transportation pass is free and given to you by your hotel upon checkin.
I checked a Saturday night in late March, rate was $293 USD for 1 room/2 people.
I had the best fondue of my trip at a restaurant very near the hotel... better than in Gruyere!

European hotels don't tend to provide airport shuttles. Not generally needed since there is this thing called public transport

I have flown into Geneva often (but stay with friends in Vevey/Montreux). I don't think you specifically need a hotel with a "shuttle". Just use the train or the bus. Easy. For a single day in Geneva, see the part of the city along the lake, and the Old Town.
In October I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at the airport for 2 nights, There is a shuttle from the airport terminal. The hotel was 2 blocks from the tram and it took only about 15 minutes to get to the city center. Breakfast was included in the rate. I don't remember what we paid, but I know it was a lot less than $350/night.
