Need a break! Stepmotherhood is not for the faint-hearted. Where to go?

I come here for ideas mostly in the US, Asia and Australia forums but never actually posted. I usually deal with my own problems on my own and in private but the title says it all. I need a break!!! I'm at my wits end and need to take a step back to fully focus on me for a couple of weeks. Will you kindly help me come up with some walkable cities? I'll post this on the Asia forum as well so don't be alarmed or confused. I'm considering both continents or even stay in the US. My overall budget is 5K USD including flight, hotel and food. If I could spend less all the better.

A little more about me: I'm a jogger so if I can find a hotel near a park that would be really convenient. I don't plan to eat at Michelin restaurants but somewhere moderately priced that would fit my budget. I'm considering anywhere that has great architecture, good food and a city that has a relatively tranquil feel. I know that sounds like an oxymoron - city/tranquil - but you get what I mean. Also not interested in clubbing, hooking up or staying out late at bars. I'm still in love with him after all these years and don't at all plan to bail. I just need a break from the chaos to put things in perspective again.

As you can see, I've opened up myself so you could better assist me with the destination. I would really appreciate it if we could focus on the travel details and keep it judgment free.
