Neckar vs Rhine Valley

Jump to last reply

I am going to Germany next winter (December ) with my family. My plans are :

12/ 24&25 - Innsbruck (christmas)
12/ 26 - Fussen (castles)
12/ 27 - Rent a car and drive to Rothenburg
12 / 28 - Pass through neckar valley (Schwäbisch Hall, Heillbronn, Bed Wimpfen and Hirschhorn ) and sleep in Heildelberg
12 / 29 - Heildelberg & visit christmas market in speyer
12 / 30 - Pass throught rhine valley and sleep in Frankfurt
12 / 31 - Frankfurt (new year )
01 / 01 - Go home!!

I know thar a lot of atractions of rhine valley will be closed on December and was thinking that sleep in a city like St Goar or Boppard isn´t a good choice on winter, So I would like to know if it´s really a good idea to drive to rhine valley and sleep in frankfurt on the same day (302 km viamichelin).
I just wanted to have a general view of the valley (everybody says its beautiful than neckar valley) and visit markburg or rheinfells without many others stops.
