Napoli-Capri-Pompeii-Amalfi Coast
Hi,
We will have 5 1/2 days to visit the area starting on Sept. 28.
We are planning to:
Day 1: Arrive Naples and have NICE PIZZA NAPOLITANA, and go to Capri (early evening)
Day 2: Capri
Day 3: Capri
Day 4: Leave to Sorrento early morning - Visit Pompeii
Day 5: Visit Amalfi Coast
Day 6: Visit Sorrento and leave to Rome around 4:00pm.
What do you think? Is that a good plan?
Any suggestions on where to stay?
(100-150 Euros)
How to move around Amalfi Coast (drive)? Train + Scooter?
What we cannot miss?
Should we go to Sorrento Day 3 "at night"?
Any comments are welcome!
Thanks!..

When planning my own upcoming trip that includes Capri, Fodorites reminded me to check the ferry schedules. It made a HUGE difference in my plans. If you click on my name, and find my Rome and South trip thread, you will see the links I was given for the ferry.
Are you staying in Sorrento on Day 4 and 5?
I would not suggest visiting the AC by scooter. Neither person will see a thing.
My choice is by boat, because the Amalfi Coast road makes me violently ill. But a car would do. Hard driving, though.
I think the bus is the worst and very unreliable, but you might want to use it for a leg or two, especially starting off from Sorrento. There are no trains on the Amalfi Coast.
Sorrento to Pompei and Naples is done by train.
We are staying at a place on Capri that is a simple inn, pensione type place. I don't recommend it, because I haven't been there yet, but it is called La Tosca. Right in your budget.
