Naples Airport to Train

Jump to last reply

We are considering flying into Naples because of the price of the flights, however, I'm having second thoughts for a few reasons. We will need to get to the train station from the airport and since we will have our baby with us, we'd need a car seat. I'm assuming that a private transfer company could supply one if you didn't want to take your own?

I'm also a bit nervous about the pickpocket situation. I've been to the Naples train station before, we came down from Rome and continued on to Sorrento. It was a group of 5 adults that time, so I was more comfortable, but we all hated the experience of taking the Circumvensia and ended up taking a car back to the Naples train station. It was very crowded and we definitely felt like pickpockets were watching. I know we won't be taking this train (we are traveling up to Rome this time), but I'm just wondering how concerned we need to be waiting in the Naples train station in the Trenitalia area, not downstairs in the local train area. Since we will have the baby, I'm just not sure if I will be more distracted. We might have to sit in the station for a bit because are flight would get in at 6:00, so I don't think I'd want to book a train before 9:00 just to be safe. The earlier one is 8:15, which I am concerned about making. Not sure why I am so hesitant this time, must be the baby, but I also had a pickpocket try to get into my purse on the metro in Paris since the last time I was in Italy, although I caught her so she didn't get anything. Do I have any reason to be concerned between the drive to the train station and waiting there with all of our luggage? I just don't want to be too stressed.
