Mykonos in mid October - Leto vs Hermes?
Prices are pretty close. We are there for just 3 nights. Like hotels that are more on luxe side but with good deals on price. All things equal, price wise - any input on which you'd pick and why?
Thanks!

Without any doubt the Hermes has the best views. It sits in a crook of the very busy Ano Mero road leading up and out of the town centre (about 10 to 15 minutes at a gentle stroll). I’ve heard many positive things the hotel but not lodged there.
The Leto is possibly the longest established on the island. Great location, to its right is the old port and its left the town's cafes on the harbour front. A short 3 minutes stroll to each.
It's always a personal thing but if I was to choose then I'd go for the Hermes simply because I love great views and sunsets (the hotel I use is on the same hill as the Hermes but slightly lower).

Hi DebitNM
We try to get to the island a couple of times a year. In September we stay at Hotel Rochari. This will be our 20th year there.
In spring or early summer we spend a week or so at our favourite part of the island, Agios Ioannis. There we lodge at the Panthea Residence. If you check back any of my threads about Mykonos I always recommend folks to at least take a short trip to this beautiful and quiet part of the island, only 10 minutes by local bus from Mykonos Town. Views to Delos are the best and the colours of the Aegean quite magical from this bay. There are some very good hotels here such as the Mykonos Grand, St John's, Lithos and the Apollonia. Much of the movie, Shirley Valentine was filmed here and the hotel used, the Manoulas Beach is still operating.
I am not sure how long you will be on the island and when you will be visiting but if you get the chance please check Agios Ioannis out.

I actually have reservations at Lithos, but was concerned that we might be too far out of town and that in mid-October services in the area might be reduced.
I need to decide soon....

It's only a few miles. The local bus travels from town via Ornos to Agios Ioannis and the stop is next to Lithos. If I recall correctly that service is one an hour in October. At the time you will be on the island it will be easy to get a taxi to and from town against July and August when those 30 or so island taxis are hard to find.
If you do decide to lodge at Lithos then some local information for you. Opposite the hotel is a very small store offering basics including the bus tickets. Also, next to the store are two restaurants (same owner) called Vasilikos Restaurant and Bellissimos. Down on the beach is Hippy Fish and also Pyli restaurants. They all should still be open in mid-October but perhaps with a reduced menu.
Lithos could be happy to provide details of the October bus timetable and local restaurant availability should you indicate you may confirm the booking, if suitable.
The beach is long and narrow and more family orientated than many others. You may have it to yourself in mid-October. Past the small church at the little harbour in Agios Ioannis, perhaps a 10 minute stroll, is the more secluded Kapari beach. This tends to be used more by those wanting an all-over body tan!
