My niece wants a one week student tour

My niece is planning a trip to Europe after college graduation this summer of 2016. Her long time friend who she was set to go with has now decided not to got at this late date. Her Uncle is taking her to Amsterdam and maybe Paris, but we both thought it would be fun for her to travel part of the time with young people her own age. Can you all suggest some reliable companies who specialize in student travel?

Contiki Tours have been around for ages and generally get good reviews I think - folks 30 and under though a high % of gals in groups I've seen around Europe. Cheaper ones are camping tours but in Contiki Villages that are nearly like a hostel.

Rick Steves' son, Andy, seems to have a good following with this demographic with his organization, Weekend Student Adventures (it's about more than weekends ;-) ).

Does she want to be part of a tour group?

There's no reason (age and maturity of a college grad) that she couldn't do part of the trip solo.

I do think that someone that age might not enjoy going by herself, even for a week. It's nice to share--and I HAVE done it solo, but for a long enough time I was able to meet a couple of folks and travel along.
But it's a good question whether she could/would do it on her own.

Or sorry, I see the post does say they "both" think joining a tour group would be fun.

not sure what age Americans graduate, but if over 16/18 could do this solo for part of the trip.

My niece will be 23, but never traveled much alone and certainly not alone in Europe. This would be her first trip abroad.
Think European kids have grown up traveling in Europe and using all the transport hostels etc. It would be difficult for a first timer alone. I went to Europe when I was that young, but with someone! She is from US and she is very hesitant to travel by herself also.

Any more suggestions? I have contacted some of these previous suggestions.

I have heard the Contiki Tours can be a party scene. I have no personal experience so don't know for certain but would suggest your niece research them a bit if she is thinking of joining one of those tours.
