My holiday starts next week - HELP!!

Leaving next week for London but I'm still unsure of the Switzerland segment. Hoping for some help with my itinerary.

1} DH and I will arrive in Berne (from Paris)via train on 4 Dec. DH not keen on any more travelling that day but I'm game to go on to Lauterbrunnen since it's just 2 more hours. Please advise.

2} We have 3 days before we leave for Barcelona from Geneva on 8 Dec. One night stay at Hotel Bahnhof in Lauterbrunnen is already reserved. But I'm still unsure if we should just stay in Lauterbrunnen and do day trips or stay in Murren for one or two nights. I've emailed a request at Alpenruh Hotel in Murren (one of the few hotels that's open at this time).

3) The journey from Lauterbrunnen to Geneva is pretty long - more than 3 hours according to the sbb website. But if we take clickair, we should have plenty of time for that as it's an evening flight to Barcelona. Alternatively, we could break our journey and stay in Berne for one night before going to Geneva. Any advice on this?

Looking forward to your suggestions...

So it's either
1. arrive Bern, stay 1 night, then Lauterbrunnen 2 nights, then train to Geneva airport
-or-
2. arrive Bern, transfer to Lauterbrunnen for 2 nights, then back to Bern 1 night, then train to Geneva airport

assuming it's the 2nd of the 3 nights you've already reserved in Lauterbrunnen

To Rachel and Travelnut - Thank you for your responses.

I have not received any reply yet from Alpenruh Hotel in Murren. So it's either 3 nights in Lauterbrunnen and then train to Geneva or 2 nights in Lauterbrunnen and 1 night in Murren.

I'm thinking of going all the way to Geneva from Lauterbrunnen/Murren on my last day in Switzerland instead of spending the last night in Bern. Should have lots of time to do that as clickair flight to Barcelona is around 6pm. That will give me an extra night in Lauterbrunnen/Murren. Any thoughts on this? I'm also checking up on the best rail pass to buy - 3-day or 4-day flexi pass or the consecutive Swiss pass.

My concern now is the journey from Paris Gare du Nord (eurostar) to Gare du Lyon (for the train to Bern), what with the current strike. But that's another story!

Pika- hate to disappoint you but I just got back from Paris and unfortunately metro strikes were well in effect. We had to walk everywhere, and only reason we were able to get to Gare de Lyon was by having the hotel concierge reserve a taxi ahead of time (they are quite busy due to strike) and it cost 9 EUR just to call, not counting the fare. Buses, though, seemed to be running fine so hopefully you have some luck there. I can ask friends about the night in Bern v. going right to GVA for your flight.

Thanks, Rachel. I called the French Tourist Office in my country and she also said the strike's still on! Hopefully things will be better when we arrive in Paris on 1 Dec. She did say that we could still walk (!) from Gare du Nord to Gare du Lyon in case no other transport's available.
