My 10 day adventure to Puglia, a few questions.

Jump to last reply

Hi all, Thank you for your helpful advice during the planning of my trip. My sister and I will spend 10 days in Puglia and Matera and so looking forward to it but have a few questions.

Our itinerary is as follows and all hotels were booked early with good rates so we would like to keep to it even though some may think we are doing too much. However we do like to be on the go and 1 nighters are not a problem to us

Itinerary:

1. Arrive in Bari airport and pick up car, drive to Trani B&B Germinario in the centre.

2. Explore Trani

3. Drive to Matera and check into Sextant Le Grotto for 1 night.

4. Morning, explore further in Matera and then drive to Ostuni and stay in Masseria Il Frantoio for 2 nights. On first night sample the Tasting Menu which has been arranged.

5. Drive; visiting Alberobello, Locorotundo and Martina Franca, return to Ostuni and eat at one of the fish restaurants that night.

6. Drive to Lecce early and explore the town and also have lunch. Then drive to Gallipoli and stay at B&B Palazzo Senape De Pace in the centre for 2 nights.

7.Explore Gallipoli region.

8. Drive to Leuca and stop along the way for views and a picnic. Stay at B&B Santa Maria Di Leuca.

8 Driv up the Eastern coast to Otranto and stay at the Masseria Panareo for 2 nights and also eat there.

9. Relax

10. drive from Otranto to Bari airport and home.

Questions:

A. Are there parking restrictions in Trani?

B. We have been informed about parking restriction in Matera but if we give the hotel our registration number it should be OK - is this correct?

C. Do we need to book a tour of Matera in advance, the hotel says they can do it for us when we arrive?

D. What time does Lecce shut down for lunch and if we are in a restaurant before shut down will they serve us?

E. My next question was about parking in Gallipoli. Our B&B is in the centre of the old town and my understanding is we can't park there as there are restrictions.. Does anyone have a recommendation as to where to park?

F. Are there parking restrictions in Leuca?

Cant't wait for this trip to begin, we are so looking forward to it.

Thank you
