Museum Quartier advice

We are planning to visit Vienna for one week just before Christmas. We'll be travelling with two sons (young adults)and are looking for nice and moderately priced hotels in this area of Vienna, and if possible close to public transportation facilities.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

What would you like to spend per night for all of you?

May not be what you want, but I love that area for staying as it's not so hectic and close to some good restaurants, shops, etc., in the Spittelberg quarter. It's still close enough to make sightseeing easy, and close to good transportation around the city and to the train station.

I stayed at the Hotel Pension Museum, which was great. Very nice people, within a block of a Ubahn stop (Volkstheater), just a short walk to the museums, etc. It's at Museumstrasse 3.

You can probably find it on various websites, here's one

This may be lower level quality than you want though. It is a 4* pension, however.

Please check out the Hotel Admiral which is right behind the Museum Quartier off Mariahilferstrasse. It's decently priced, the rooms are clean and the bathrooms modern. You are just a half block to Mariahilferstrasse and another couple of blocks to the Ringstrasse with the UBahn and Trams.

Try Hotel Altstadt, which is a very short walk from Museum Quartier and reasonable prices. The Volkstheatre Ubahn stop is on the walk to the museums -- just a few blocks. I reviewed the hotel on tripadvisor.
