I will be traveling to Munster, Germany in February. It looks like the flights all go into Dusseldorf. What is the easiest way to get from Dusseldorf to Munster? How's the weather in Munster that time of year? I am assuming that would still be considered winter and it will be cold! I'm not having a great time finding much information on Munster, so any input would be appreciated!

Do you mean Munster or Münster/Muenster? These are two different towns and both could be reached via Düsseldorf. Münster is the bigger of the two, the one with the university and the bicycles, while Munster has the British army and the tank museum. Figure out which one it is first.
The train from the airport Düsseldorf to Münster takes 1:25 and runs about every 30 min with a change in Duisburg or Essen. Check www.bahn.de for connections.
Münster is a beautiful city with lots of history. Sights:
- The City Hall, where the Westphalian Treaty was negotiated. A guided tour is recommendable.
- The Cathedral with its astronomical clock. The big show is at 12:00, maybe every full hour.
- The St. Lamberti church with the cages for the baptists.
- The Prinzipalmarkt with its arcades, fancy shops.
- The Kiepenkerl with lots of restaurants, serving regional cuisine in authentic ambiance.
- The Mühlenhof open-air museum with historic farmhouses etc.
- The Zoo.
- The Lacquer Museum in its baroque palace.
Outside of Münster, there are a lot of gorgeous castles. The most notable ones are Schloss Nordkirchen (the Westphalian Versailles) and Burg Vischerung (a sturdy medieval castle).

I forget to answer your question regarding weather. Yes, it will be winter in February. Be prepared for temperatures between -5°C and +10°C. It may rain heavily. Maybe some snow (usually not much).
I have written my former post about Münster/Westfalen which is a beautiful city with lots of opportunities for sightseeing, shopping and a wonderful restaurant scene.
The other, much smaller town, is Munster in the Lüneburger Heide which is an army location. The nearest airports to this town would be Hamburg and Hannover, so I expect you mean Münster (write "Muenster" if you cannot type the "ü").

Thank you for your input. Yes, it is Muenster with the bikes and the university. So it sounds like Dusseldorf would be the closest airport to fly into and I better bring some warm clothes!
Unless you can fly non-stop from your location to Düsseldorf, you can also check for flights with one connection to Münster/Osnabrück airport (usually via Munich, Frankfurt, or Paris). The IATA code for fare searches is FMO.
There is plenty of info on Munster on their web site ( the bike capital) which I will attest to. I visited for 3 days in Oct. 2008. Great city ( much is rebuilt though) and sites. Echnaton has touched on many of the great sites, some I visited. The Lacquer museum was one, lots of great old churches, a real pleasant time there. Schloss Nordkirchen was closed and will be in Feb. but the grounds most certainly will be open and are quite beautiful. The Kuhviertel was great for an evening too. We flew into Dusseldorf and trained over.
