Munich/Salzsburg possible summer trip

Have chosen last two hotels with help from fodorites and wondered if anyone has suggestions for comperable hotels on this vacation? We stayed at Locanda Barbarigo in Venice and Hotel Cassi in Florence. Haven't firmed up any real plans yet, but thinking of visiting these cities and possibly Vienna. Any suggestions on hotels and a plan for about 4-5 nights? Thanks.

Are you looking for suggestions on Munich and Salzburg hotels? What price range are you looking for?

If you are looking for Munich hotel suggestions, I stay in the Astoria on Nicolaistrasse in Schwabing. It is close to the Ubahn, about a long block, and you can be downtown in just a few minutes.
Leopoldstrasse, the main street through Schwabing is full of activity and stores.

In Salzburg, I don't know. We stayed at the Golden Duck, Zur goldenen Ente. It is on Goldgasse in the Old Town, just down a narrow twisting street from Mozart's statue. Since I was there it has changed management. It was fine at the time, and the breakfast, included, was first class. The room we had was a little small, but adequate.

The Hotel Uhland is a wonderful B&B in a pretty treed neighborhood next to the Oktoberfest Park. It is really a great value and lovely service and breakfast buffet. It's small and fills up quickly, so check it out.

In Salzburg you may want to check the Weisse Kreuz (white cross) about a block from the cathedral. It is a nice little family-run place in a central location.

We were there at Christmas and boy do they start with be cathedral bells early on Christmas eve... I think it was at 5:30 am then about once an hour for 15 minutes.
