Munich, Switzerland and nearby places trip in Early May
Dear All,
I am analysing to plan a visit to europe with my family. We have two infants, 2 yrs old and 6 months old. I will originally be travelling to Munich for a meeting and plan to go around in nearby europe countries. Obvious preference is Switzerland mainly Zurich, Zug and nearby areas. Also need to go to England to see some friends.
Would appreciate suggestions on travel route and planning. After landing in Munich and staying there for four days, need further planning for area's near munich, switzerland and england..
Also would train still be a good option with kids and luggage or car rental would help.
Regards
Zaheer

IMHO it would be very difficult to travel by train with two tiny kids. One person would somehow have to manage both children (not easy) while the other deals with all of the luggage and the "stuff: the kids have - strollers, diaper bags, food and toys, etc. And you know how many changes of clothes you need for little ones.
I would rent a car to make moving around much easier. I wuold also rent an apt in one location in Switz and do day trips from there. That will give you much more flexibility than a hotel - washer and drier to do baby laundry - and a separate BR so adults and kids can sleep different hours. Important to make sure the car seats you use on the plane can easily be attached to the car.

Dear nytraveler, bilboburgler,
I'd agree that with kids and luggage, it'd be impossible to travel in public transport. I also like the idea of staying in a central location and travelling around.
Can you recommend any major attractions or stop overs on way from Munich to Zurich. Also any recommendations wrt car hire.
Thank you in advance.

Well friedrichshafen has a zepplin museum and a recreation of a slilt village while Konstanz has a giant aquarium and a fine island in the lake with some pretty gardens.
