If you are talking about the Hauptbanhof, the answer is yes, but if you want to see the Marienplatz, Glockenspeil, Virtukalmarket etc. You should switch at the Haupt. to the U that will take you to the Marienplatz stop, it is quicker than walking.<BR><BR>http://www.muenchen-tourist.de/englisch/index_e.htm<BR><BR>http://www.reed.edu/~reyn/Munich.mvv96.gif<BR><BR>http://www.munich-info.de/travel/karte_de.html<BR><BR><BR>Here are a few links to help you out

the tourist office at Marienplatz sells maps (I think it's 1Euro) and it has a few walks that you can do yourself around the city center and hit the big sights. Definately go up in the city hall tower (elevator) and get an overview... it's fantastic.

I think it may be better to visit Oktoberfest (just behind the main station) than the city center on a Sunday night. The Viktualienmarkt is closed and there is no Glockenspiel at that time. www.oktoberfest.de.

Sam,<BR>The Viktualienmarkt is a permanent street market selling fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, game and poultry, bread - everything that looks, smells and tastes delicious.<BR>The Glockenspiel is a clock in the tower of the town hall. I think it chimes several times a day and there is a dance of clockwork shepherds going round and round. A popular tourist attraction!

Leave your bags at the train station and either walk or take the U-bahn to Theresienwiese and check out Oktoberfest! Otherwise, walk around Marienplatz and Odeonsplatz. There's a large pedestrian section starting at Karlsplatz (on the way from Hauptbahnhof) and lots of people will be out for their evening strolls. Most stuff will be closed on Sunday evening.

I am with everyone else who stated skip Brussels see Munich. I have just returned from Europe 2 days ago. Before we went we had planned an overnight stay in Brussels and then we were off to Munich for Oktoberfest and the sights. <BR>Brussels was dirty, over priced, full of beggars and had dog poo on all of the sidewalks. The beer(Bellevue Kriek) and the chocolate was good but it really wasn't worth a day of our trip. <BR>Munich was beautiful. Oktoberfest was a great experience and the sights were spectacular. They have many old catherdrals which you can go up in and see the city. It is rich with history.<BR>Skip Brussels if possible.<BR><BR>Cas
