Mt Titlis in Switzerland
Hey can I ask how long is the train journey from Lucerne to Mt Titlis and also how long is the ride up the mountain? Also, is there snow tubing, sledding in April? Can I also ask if the Ice Flyer is open in April? I actually viewed the website already, but didn't really understand what each of the ticket price encompasses. Can anyone give me an idea of how much a ticket which includes ski or snow tubing or snow sledding costs? Would appreciate some help... thanks

I have gone to the top of Mt Titlis, but it was years ago. It takes about an hour by train to get from Lucerne to Engelberg. This is a very steep climb to Engelberg. From there you walk a trail to the base of the gondolas. If I remember you can go to different levels. We went to the top and it was cold with snow in mid June. Sorry I don't remember the prices but I don't remember it being unreasonable. This will bring your post to the top for others to reply.

It's 51 minnutes by train from Lucerne to Engelberg and then about 45 minutes up by gondola (first a little one and then the large rotation one). The train is CHF 34.80, the gondolas 50 (might be different in april). I think sledding depends on the weather. If you do more travelling in Switzerland the swisspass might also be an option:

The Ice Flyer is included in the Titlis ticket price. When we were there last there was a sign that indicated the Ice Flyer was 10 CHF, but when we asked at the ticket booth, we were told it was included in the ticket we already had.
Here's some info on sledding:

There's a nice walk around the lake at the Trubee station too.

hey thanks everyone for your help and suggestions... i kind of have a better idea now of how to plan my trip up to Mt Titlis... by the way, do i need to wear really thick clothing for this? I'm kind of conce rnedthat it will be very inconvenient to carry proper winter clothing just for this trip up the mountain...

You'll probably be alright if you dress in layers and carry a hat and maybe a pair of gloves. Be sure to wear decent shoes though. We saw a Japanese woman sliding around on the Titlis wearing a short skirt, panty hose and heels. It was hilarious.
We attempted the Titlis twice, first time was gloomy and wet, with poor visbility so we didn't go all the way up. The second time (in December) we had a beautiful clear day. I don't remember being cold at all, but I like the cold, so take that with a grain of salt.
