I am interesting in renting a motorcycle for 2 or 3 days this summer during my (expected) trip to the Berner Oberland. I have found a few websites offering bike rentals but I have not found any reviews or do's and don'ts of bike rental on a European vacation.
Is it worth bringing my own helmet, jacket, and rain gear or renting them?
What are some great motorcycling roads?
What am I not thinking of?

Can highly recommend Switzerland for a biking holiday.
Not only can they build roads, they're pretty good when it comes to tunnels as well; overall, the road network is a great piece of work.
They didn't build the scenery but that's pretty good too.
If you are travelling mid-Summer, all passes should be open; I thought it was a joke at first when the subject was aired by friends who live in Switzerland but I have a photo, taken end-June, with snow only metres from the tarmac.
Cannot single out any particular roads to recommend.
I travelled from Bern eastwards to the Egandine via the Sustenpass, returning on a more southerly route taking in Lac Lugano and Chamonix.
Thanks. Good point about some passes being iffy as late as June.
