Moscow, Russia SVO airport layover

Jump to last reply

My husband, 10 year old daughter and I are traveling to Thailand this summer. Our flight from JFK- SVO- Bangkok has a 12 hour layover in Moscow. We arrive Wed. June 18 at 7:40 am, and leave Wed. June 18 at 7:40 pm. I've heard traffic is a nightmare getting to and from the airport and it probably doesn't make sense to even attempt leaving the airport. Any suggestions for the layover? I've read about a "Capsule Hotel V express" that seems to be the only one actually in the airport.. is this worthwhile? Also, my daughter and I are US citizens, my husband is Jamaican... will we need to get a VISA for our layover?

Thank you for any advice or recommendation... 12 hours is a long time to kill with a child, especially in between 2 long flights..
