Montreux Riviera public transport pass
Doing more research for next April/May visit. Because we are two colleagues, I am looking at apartments, rather than hotel, for more space.
I have identified 8 possible places on AirBnB (more choices found on their site). HOWEVER, only 2 mention offering the Montreux Riviera public transport pass.
Is this a pass that the HOST must offer, or could I get this travel pass at the TI in one town after providing proof of rental?
Because we plan so many local trips, this would really impact our choice of lodging!

The Montreux Rivera Card is a *must*. It is funded by the overnight tax (Kurtaxe in German). The problem is most likely that not all the AirBnB hosts are officially registered to rent out apartments. These that don't offer the pass probably (most certainly) don't charge the tax, which means you cannot get the Riviera Card - and their business is illegal.

That's something hotels give you, and registered B&Bs, holiday homes, etc. I could be wrong, but I don't think you can buy one, it's some offering under agreement with the tourism dept and those entities are taxed for that benefit, I think. I might be wrong, but perhaps the ones who do not offer it are illegal rentals.
YOu can certainly buy transportation tickets yourself, though, but that card is a special tourism benefit. An all-day ticket is 9 CHF and a weekly pass is about 33.

I am also going to Switzerland but staying in Lausanne which also has some kind of free local pass.
There also is the Regional Pass for Lake Geneva which although not free covers the whole area and has some included free trips and discounts:
