Montepulciano B&B or Hotel Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a nice, but not expensive B&B or hotel in Monteppulciano, preferably in the town, but nearby countryside would be OK also. Looking to stay under 75-100E if this is possible.

I am such a bore on this subject but will repeat myself once more:

Stay a week and pay 70 E per night approx. at Al Poggiolo apartments.

SandyB

Just back from three weeks in Italy, we stayed four nights (high season) in the town center in Montepulciano at Meuble Il Ricco. It was great, the owner lives in his residence next door. He said the building was built in 1280 and he is the seventh generation of his family to live there. The price was $85 Euros without breakfast. I found it with the help of tripadvisor.com. The extra $8 Euros was not worth the breakfast and we found the local cafes a better value they are just a stones throw from the hotel. Hope this helps.

I wish I had some advice, but trust your gut, and surf the web. Venere or trip advisor may be a good starting points on the web.
Leave early in the day, these hotels do not stay open very late in the country side.

tedgale and Patrick:
You both are way too arrogant.
If it bothers you, don't reply.

What are you the Fodors Police?

Get a life.

We happened to find this place just by chance, and it was great for the price. In an old apartment building downtown. The owner is a real gold chain wearing, musatachioed, boisterous, but very helpful character!

kboggs75...I think you are being a little hard on tedgale and Patrick. I don't think either was being "arrogant".I know on other boards I have answered questions on some place I like more than once and I worry that I am always harping on it but I am really only trying to help out. Patrick especially has been really helpful to lots of people and he has done a lot of travelling. I wouldn't presume to answer for him but I am pretty sure he ( and tegdale ) were being genuinely helpful although a little hesitant about giving the same information they have given before. Lets keep it light and benefit from the experience of others to help us enjoy our own. Cheers!

Denise, Could you give a little more info on what the rooms, bathrooms and beds are like at Il Riccio? I am considering it for a visit in January. Many thanks.

kboggs, you take the cake. What are you talking about -- arrogant? If we don't like what? Someone wanted a recommendation and we gave one -- a really great one, in fact. Your answer to the question was to go somewhere else and seek information. Are you for real? Did you read something into these replies? For the life of me I can't figure out what the heck you're talking about!

Le Manzinaie (farmhouse/villa) is about 6 miles from Montepulciano. We paid about $650 USD for the entire week when we stayed there in May. You can find reviews on Tripadvisor.com and slowtrav.com as well.
