My family and I are considering visitng the Mt Saint-Michel area July 16-19. Are unusual flood tides ever a problem, making access along the causway impossible? Would they be during that time period?

It's the parking lots that are more of a problem than the causeway. From what I hear, the tides are more of a problem in the spring.
Our problem with the tides was that they never happened. The only disappointment about Mont Saint Michel was that it never became an island as I had always pictured it. It sat in a huge mud flat that never covered with water the entire two days we were there.
