Monday morning traffic to CDG?
We took the RER from CDG to Paris city and managed just fine with 2 young kids and 3 carry-ons. Took a little over an hour door to door. We have a 10:30am flight out of CDG to the US on Monday. Is it faster to go by taxi during that time of the day? How's traffic? Would it be just as fast to take the RER?

That is very good in my experience. A couple months ago I took the Air France bus into Paris from CDG early morning, and it took about 1.5 hours. It was terrible, the cars were backed up onto the peripherique trying to get into Paris. The weather was a little rainy, also, and there was one accident. I was really glad I was not in a taxi. Usually I go to CDG on Sunday so had never seen the traffic during a weekday rush hour. It was bad going the other direction, also, but not as bad as going into Paris.
So I wouldn't risk it myself, although I think some of this is just random. If you are really worried about speed, I wouldn't want to count on time a lot less than an hour, but even when it isn't that bad, it seems to take me about 40 minutes, so if time is your only consideration, you aren't going to be saving much anyway. Of course I am usually going from Montparnasse, so if you were on the far north side of Paris, it should be quicker, of course.

It would probably take about the same amount of time for either a taxi or RER, although you don't say where you're starting from.
You need to be at the airport by 7:30 for your flight so start for the airport at 6:30. I would think a taxi would be easier with luggage and children.

Call for a taxi the night before for a 06h30 pickup. Cost will be approximately as kerouac suggests, somewhere around 60€ to 70€. The taxi will arrive with about 10€ on the meter, the second and subsequent bags placed into the trunk are charged at 1€. There is no need to tip in excess of 3% to 5%.
