Get in touch with the local consulate for Monaco to get the most accurate information.

You don't mention what you do for a living - but I would think being fluent in French is a requirement for most jobs. Have you looked into work opportunities in the area versus the cost of living - since this is the land of the uber wealthy?

You have posted about building a house in Germany, and about Berchtesgaden, and finding American clubs and hotels, and now a work permit in Monaco? I personally think you either have too much time on your hands . . . or need to focus a bit more.

Thank you Janis. You are absolutely right! I have lived all my life in Malibu, CA and Wailea, HI. I was raised in Montreux, CH. Consequently, it is scary for me to make a final decision for 'the mountains' or 'the beach'. NY, you are right, too. Monaco may be out of line in terms of living expenses. Thank you, all.
