we are a group of 8 going to Spoleto for a few days in March, we are planning on trains to move around Umbria but I am thinking a mini van might be better....can't seem to find a large enough vehicle to rent on line....any one know of a local rental where we can get a vehicle for 8? We are not looking for a driver, just a vehicle. thanks

Consider renting 2 cars instead. Easier to find, and more flexible if everybody doesn't want to go to the same place at the same time.
I agree! And, 2 mid-size cars may be no more than a 9 pasenger van--which will be hard to drive in the old towns.
A minivan won't hold 8 people. You would need a bigger passenger van which isn't easy to maneuver in hill towns.
thanks for input, will reassess trains vs 2 cars.
On a trip with 6 adults we rented a Fiat Ducato, which holds 9 people. It was hard to negotiate in smaller spaces, but we got everywhere we needed to go in our 2 week trip. The only big issue we had is you cannot park one of these things in a parking garage--it's too tall. Of course nobody told us this until after we tried to park in a garage. We brought it back with a lovely crinkle in the roof.
