If we want to make use of the Swiss pass, which is the nearest station in Switzerland that we can activate the pass? From milano centrale, we should take the train to which part of Swiss? Thanks alot!

i just read somewhere that i am not able to get the Swiss half pass in italy. Is it true? And someone commented that it is actually cheaper to buy online for the Swiss half pass! However, I am flying off this saturday night!
I will like to enjoy the privileges of the half pass right from the swiss border.
Any site to recommend to buy the swiss half pass or any ctries in europe that i could get it? Is it cheaper to buy in Swiss?

I found the Swiss railpass options be very confusing when I visited Switzerland several years ago. The best route from Milan to Interlaken is the route by way of Brig and Spiez. Brig is the first station in Switzerland and you can probably buy the half fare card there (you could when I visited - but that was several years ago and things may have changed). You may have to change trains in Brig (some operate Milan - Spiez without a change). If so, you might have enough time to buy the pass during the connection.

We bought our Swiss Pass before we left. We validated our ticket in the Milano train station. Three years ago there was a glass booth to the far right of the tracks (facing tracks) to do that. Give yourself a little time--there was a bit of a line.
We stopped in Brig but for a very short time--just time to let a few people on and off. I was glad we didn't try to buy it there.
You will change trains in Spiez--very easy to do. It's a small station with attendants handy to point the way.
At Interlaken, if you are going on into the OB area, you will want to go all the way to the OST station. Once again, you will change trains but it will be easy. It sounds like a very challenging day with all the train changes but the Swiss stations and trains are well timed and very efficient. You won't go more than a few steps to get from one train to the other.

Ya. i mean the half fare card. I mention mendrisio because we will be going to foxtown at switzerland, as a day trip from milan. Wondering if we could get the half fare card there.
I read the swiss main site but it does not really state which stations we are able to get the half fare card.
