Milan to Bologna Train Transfer

Jump to last reply

I'm traveling to Italy with a tour group in early May. Because of my college graduation ceremony, I'm actually going to have to leave a day later and meet them in Bologna. My flight is currently scheduled to land at Milan Malpensa from Newark at 8:50 AM on May 7. I then intend to take one of the high speed trains to Bologna.

I'm traveling with a rail pass, and so I have to make a reservation. The trains I'm wanting to take leave every hour at 10 minutes after. My question is this: how long should I leave between when my flight lands and the train I reserve? I'm checking a bag, so I'll have to pick up my luggage, clear immigration, and then (probably) take the transfer train from Malpensa to Milano Centrale. Is the train leaving Milano Centrale at 12:10 too early?
