Milan neighborhood
Hi all,
Am looking for a hotel/neighborhood in Milan that is close to shopping, good restaurants and walking distance to most attractions. Price of no more than $ 200 a night . Travel mid. November.
Thanks!!

Milan is on the expensive side, so $200/night might not get you the level of luxury you'd expect. Today, $200 = 148EUR.
We've stayed multiple times at the Hotel Star. It's in a good location for sightseeing and shopping and just a couple of blocks (about 500 meters) from the Duomo subway stop. The exterior of the building doesn't impress, and the interior décor is a bit basic. But bathrooms (except perhaps at the economy level) have been fairly recently remodeled with lots of marble. Clean and quiet. Helpful staff.

www.hotelberna.com - near the trains, near the metro, in your price range, nice.

The Hotel Berna is a good deal, but I don't like the area it's in. There's nothing specifically wrong with the location, esp. if you're only staying one night and arriving/departing by train, but it's NOT within walking distance of the main sights and is rather charmless. Not many cafes, restaurants, etc., in the immediate area.
